LEMS Family Association Raises Awareness at AANEM and LONDC Meetings
The LEMS Family Association attended the AANEM Annual Meeting in Orlando, Florida, with Tracy and June Sharp joining Executive Director Madeline Miller to raise awareness of Lambert-Eaton myasthenic syndrome (LEMS).
The team hosted an informational table, connecting with neuromuscular specialists and meeting new physicians who recognized the importance of patient support beyond the clinical setting. These conversations helped introduce more healthcare professionals to the Association’s education, connection, and peer support programs.
Kristen Russell also attended the Late-Onset Neuromuscular Disease Collaborative (LONDC) meeting, continuing conversations about the collaborative’s mission and its “Why Behind Weakness” awareness campaign. Through partnerships with other late-onset neuromuscular patient advocacy organizations, the LEMS Family Association is working to increase awareness, strengthen connections, and ensure more patients and healthcare professionals recognize the impact of these conditions.
Together, these efforts advance the Association’s mission to improve the lives of individuals and families affected by LEMS through education, advocacy, and research.
