LEMS is rare — and building a strong, connected community takes all of us. Volunteering with the LEMS Family Association is a meaningful way to support others, share your experience, and help strengthen the future of our organization. Whether you have a few hours a month or want to take on a more active role, there are many ways to get involved.

Ways to Get Involved
Connect with Other Patients and Families
Sometimes the most powerful support is simply being there. Volunteers can help foster connection by participating in peer conversations through our LEMS Lifeline program, join in online disucssions and other community outreach.
Share Your LEMS Journey
Your story matters. By sharing your personal LEMS journey for others to read on our website, you can help others feel less alone, provide hope and raise awareness of the realities of living with this rare condition. Stories will be shared on our website, in newsletters and social media.
Write an Article for Our Website
Do you enjoy writing or have insights you’d like to share? Volunteer writers contribute articles on topics such as living with LEMS, coping strategies, advocay, caregiver perspectives, or navigating diagnosis and treatment. No professional wrtining experience require. Just a willingness to share!
Join a Committee
Our committees help guide and stregthen the organization. Volunteers work alongside the executive director and other community members to support initiatives such as programming, outreach, communications, fundraising and long-term planning.
Host An Awareness or Fundraising Event
Make an impact in your own community. Volunteers can host awareness events, educational gatherings, or fundraising activities in their own town to support the LEMS Family Association and its mission.
No Experience Needed
You don’t need prior volunteer experience, just a passion for helping the LEMS community. We will work to find you a role that matches your intertes, comfort level and availabilty.
